How to Buy Car DVD Players – 5 Important Steps for Secure Purchase

Author: zoe

Car DVD players make us farewell to boring time on our way to travel or business. Cars with DVD players are not the exclusive phenomenon of coaches any more. Many private cars are installed this kind of electronics. Thanks to high technology, it makes wholesale car electronics sellers or their retailers offer this device at more affordable prices than before. But an unsuitable player might only be used as an adornment and it even produces a bad affection on our original good mood.

There are a large number of car DVD players on the market. And they are different in prices, types, sizes and additional functions. Many of us might have no idea about where to start. Actually, our purchase will become happy and efficient if we finish it step by step.

Knowing the product is the first step to our purchase success. It’s not necessary for us to master the knowledge as professionally as experts. The basics are OK. This kind of info could easily get from internet, people who already has car DVD players or books. The site “http://products.howstuffworks.com/car-dvd-players-buying-guide.htm” is a good website if you wanna get the basic knowledge as well as common-used glossary of car DVD players.

Second, comparing prices are also important for car electronics purchase. Comparing prices makes us capable of beating the prices down accordingly and prevents us from being cheated by snake oil sellers. Internet is an access to know the prices, as it has numerous electronics stores. We also could get the info from electronics shops, as all sellers, no matter reliable or not, are willing to offer this info to their potential customers.

Third, read customer reviews. Customer reviews always offer complete, unbiased comments on the products including their features, technical details, specifications, pros, cons, and customer rates. Very helpful, right?

Fourth, buying from national or international brand stores effectively protects you from counterfeit or shoddy products. Amazon, Overstock, Newegg, etc. are world famous online stores. If you want to buy from China, consider ActFind, Chinavasion, Wholesalesglobal, etc. are nation-famed wholesale electronics online stores which also support retail.

Fifth, pay attention to product warranty. The authentic products manufacturers always offer certain-period warranty for non conditional exchange, return and repair while fake products suppliers seldom provide. Product warranty ensures you to have no after-buying worries.

Straw Hat: A Fashion Item Or A Casual Beachwear?

Author: Eric Gov

Think straw hats are for those who cannot afford real hats? Guess again. Several Hollywood celebrities have been spotted recently wearing a wide array of straw hats. From Panama hats to straw cowboy hats, straw is all the rage!

With many straw hats priced at or less, they have become one of the trendiest fashion statements on the market. Not only do straw hats look cool, but they also help protect the delicate skin on your face from harmful UVA and UVB rays, the main component in skin cancer. As awareness of skin cancer continues to grow, you should definitely be seeing a hat to shade your facial skin from the harsh UVA and UVB rays that the sun emits. Not only does this prevent wrinkles, but it also helps prevent sun exposure that can lead to skin cancer. In fact, the American Cancer Society recommends wearing a hat on sunny days in addition to sunscreen.

Straw hats are comfortable to wear, contain completely natural materials and allow your head to breath so that overheating is not an issue. On top of the protective nature these hats provide, a straw hat is also completely fashionable and trendy. If you get caught in a rainstorm, it really doesn’t matter because straw repels water. Don’t worry about looking uncool! Even the celebrities are wearing straw!

Britney Spears and Jon Bon Jovi have both been out and about in straw cowboy hats. Lightweight and durable, straw cowboy hats are more popular than the real thing because they allow air to circulate ending that sweaty head feel that cowboy hats have been known for.

Leonardo Dicaprio and Hugh Jackman have both been spotted in trendy straw hats. Two very sexy men take what looks like a standard straw hat and turn it into a must-have accessory!

Paris Hilton has been seen around town in a huge straw hat. It definitely provides ample shade from the sun, something those with pale skin need!

With durability and price being the two main factors for many men and women, straw is the answer. Straw is water resistant in most cases. It is definitely lightweight and breaths better than felt or cotton

Straw is totally an organic product. It is made from a plant and is great for the environment! There are few different types of plants straw products are made of. Buntal is the best known raw material that is used in fashion accessories and apparel. The straw material used for fashion item is very different than the one that is used in the ropes and mats manufacturing process. Buntal material is a high quality, beautifully golden colored and durable. It is widely used in various fashion items – fashionable designer handbags and purses.

Straw hats are fashionable and fun. This is a winning combination for those who want to start wearing a hat to protect them from the sun but worry about how a hat will look. Celebrities are wearing straw, so why shouldn’t you?

Tips to Help You When Buying a Used Car or Truck

Author: Corey Rozon

Six steps are all it will take to ensure that you are not buying a lemon. Whether this is your first used car or your 20th researching some crucial information before you buy never hurt anyone. One of the key things is to price compare. If the used car is a lot cheaper than it should be worth, alarm bells should start ringing. For those vehicles that fall within the expected price ranged, these tips will help you with your buying decisions.

1) Stains, Leaks & Puddles – Look for stains and leaks in the driveway and garage.

Rust colored stains indicate a leaking radiator.

Black or Brown puddles and stains indicate an oil or transmission fluid leak.

Purple puddles indicate transmission fluid leaks.

2) Why are you Selling? – The first thing you want to do is ask the seller why they are selling their used car. Why don’t they like it anymore? Is it not good enough for them? And for that matter what’s so great about their new car? Put them on the defense, this way they will have to come up with a quick answer, if they hesitate they may have something to hide. It is best to ask this in person, so you can judge not only their tone, but also their body language. Most people are terrible liars. Also be wary if the seller tries to close the deal too quickly – it could be a good sign they are trying to offload a piece of junk on you.

3) Rebuilt Junkers – Look at all the seams in the car, the gaps should be the same distance apart at the top of a panel as they are at the bottom. Uneven gaps or small dents can suggest accident damage. The paint should match on all panels, and beware of body-kits and custom paint jobs. They may look cool, but they could be hiding damage to the chassis below. Look for over spray on plastic parts, around lights, mirrors and edges of the engine bay.

4) Known Problems – Ask the seller to point out all known defects and problems. When doing your own inspection if you find obvious problems that the seller did not mention there might be more wrong with the vehicle then they are letting on.

5) Proof-of-Service – Ask for all the maintenance records, proof of oil changes and tune-ups. If they don’t have it, for all you know the oil has never been changed.

6) Having a Good Mechanic – Taking the used car to get a proper inspection by a mechanic prior to purchasing it is the most effective way of ensuring you won’t get stuck with a lemon.

7) Flood Damage – Dealers may also be purchasing used vehicles from the U.S., and may even unknowingly be selling a car that has had flood damage. Before you even leave the lot, here are some steps to see if the vehicle has had any flood damage.

Look for rust on:

door hinges

spare tire

crowbar

jack

metal holdings under the seats

If you find any rusting in these places, it may have had extensive water damage and it is best to move on.

Remember when purchasing a used car, whether it is from a personal sale or a dealer, you want to go with someone you can trust. To give you some piece of mind, going through a dealership is the way to go.

Car Selling Tips For Ebay Motors

Author: Neil Teasdale

It’s no secret that everyday more and more people turn to eBay to buy and sell products online and eBay Motors, the branch of the company created to sell vehicles is no different. I have bought and sold vehicles at eBay Motors and have had some great and some no so great experiences on both sides of the fence but either way it was always learning experience that helped me later on.

Obviously if you’re trying to sell a car online at eBay Motors you’re probably looking for the best possible price. Here are a few tips that you can use to get the best price when selling your car online. First and foremost, you must clean and fully detail your car so that it appears as close to perfect as possible depending on its overall condition and you should never try to conceal any minor flaws. When people are depending on pictures to buy a car they don’t want to guess what’s under the dirt or try to figure out how bad a flaw really is. Being brutally honest might net you a little less but it will prevent any headaches later on in the dealing process.

Never try and skimp on your auction description and pictures. As mentioned earlier, people are buying a car and potentially spending a bunch of cash so if they see anything they don’t like they will pass your auction or listing in a heartbeat. It is much better to take as many pictures as possible, a good rule of thumb is to provide as many pictures as you would like to see if you were the buyer. Also post them up as a slideshow or a collage and cover all the angles, don’t put up one picture and say email me for more, many people will not go through the trouble of requesting more photos for any mainstream model car.

I recommend that you take pictures of the following angles to help the potential car buyer understand what kind of shape your car is in. Keep your pictures flowing around the car to ensure you don’t miss anything and it will help the buyer realize that you’ve covered everything they’re looking for?

Start at the driver’s side and take a shot at an angle shooting toward the headlight but showing the entire driver’s side in the photo then move around the vehicle taking the side, rear, passenger, and then straight on front. Taking the long angles is very helpful to show that your car body is true and doesn’t have waves from a bad body job. Be sure to take close ups of any damage or flaws and point them out in your auction or listing description as well. Once you’ve covered the exterior of the vehicle take clear pictures of the interior including each of the seats, floor mats and under the floor mats, the headliner, and the dashboard. When you take a picture of the dashboard make sure you take a solo shot of the odometer to verify the mileage.

Moving on you want to take pictures of the engine compartment which is why it is crucial that it has been detailed nicely. One trick my friend uses that not many people think of is to take the dipstick out and take a close up of the oil to show that is fresh and clean. This might or might not help but the more you show the less hassle you’ll get in the selling process.

Now that you have the exterior, interior and engine covered you will want to add some pictures of the under carriage of your car. This is becoming the more and more the norm when people are looking at used vehicles online, they want to ensure they aren’t missing anything. To take away all their fears of damage and rust issues you should capture images of the front portion, mid portion and the back portion and make sure you include the muffler, catalytic converter and the wheel wells and any other areas that you feel should be covered. A lot of car enthusiasts will take shots with their wheels off to show the brake rotors or take shots of the shocks and so on but that’s up to you. You’ll usually see this if the seller is showing that they just changed or upgraded to new parts.

The last tip I will recommend is something I think is extremely important for any sale but especially if you’re selling a classic or vintage car and that is the cars documents. That is the original owner’s documents and manual with any repairs and regular maintenance. Also include any preventative maintenance documents like rust proofing or any improvements that you’ve made since buying the car.

Provide your phone number and email so people can call or contact you with questions. If you make sure you answer any email or phone requests promptly and courteously and include what’s been outlined above, I’m positive you’ll get the best deal possible for your car without any major problems during the whole car selling process.

How Do Car Dealerships Determine Trade-In Value or Allowance?

Author: Jason Lanier

This article will explain the basics of how car dealerships determine the value of a trade-in. It’s based on my personal experience working in several car dealerships, however cannot be guaranteed to be the end all answer to this question.

In 99% of car dealerships:

The following factors are used to determine the ACV of a trade in. ACV stands for Actual Cash Value.

  • Vehicle Mileage
  • Interior Condition
  • Exterior Condition
  • Tire Wear
  • Cost of Reconditioning or “Recon” for Sale at Auction or On the Lot

Dealers used what is called the “Black Book”, which is a weekly publication that gives dealers averages of what vehicle makes and models are currently selling for at auction. Kelly Blue Book is RARELY ever used because it always shows a higher value. NADA (National Auto Dealer Association) car value guides are used in some dealerships.

99% of dealerships across the nation, the Black Book is used and is not a publication that is sold to the public. Values are based on “Clean Book”, “Average Book” and “Rough Book”… dealers use these as a guide when estimating ACV for a vehicle.

Excess mileage “deducts” are subtracted from the value. Also, dealerships rarely ever add anything to the wholesale value of a vehicle for additional options, such as Aluminum wheels, luggage racks, CD players and so forth. Although consumers would like to think that the extra add-ons that they purchased will positively impact trade-in ACV, it rarely does.

Trade In Allowance

Once the dealer has determined the ACV or Actual Cash Value of the vehicle, they then take that number and determine how much of it they will actually allow you. Sometimes, a dealer may “holdback on your trade” and offer you less for it than it is actually worth. The difference becomes profit that is credited to the new car department as it is the used car department that actually “buys” the trade-in to be resold.

Negotiating the amount that the dealer is allowing you for your trade-in can make a big difference. In many cases, a dealer will “holdback on your trade-in” one to two thousand dollars or more.

Note: It is important that you not reveal to the dealer what you owe on your trade-in before they give you a figure as to what they are going to value it at. Sometimes, if you have equity in your trade, the dealer will not be as “generous” when figuring the ACV.

Rental Car Insurance Advice

Rental Car Collision-Damage ...

Rental Car Insurance Basics

Author: Barclay Win

Getting proper auto insurance for a rental car is a process full of uncertainty and more than a little confusion. Should I get insurance from the rental company? Am I covered if I use my credit card to rent the car? Does my auto insurance policy cover rented vehicles? All of these are questions that come to mind when thinking about obtaining auto insurance for a rental car.

The first step you should take before renting a car is to check on your existing auto insurance coverage and with your credit card companies to find out what type of rental auto insurance you already have in place. This can be done before you ever rent a car so you enter the process with some background knowledge.

If you are renting a car for pleasure and not business, most likely the coverage and deductibles you have with auto insurance on your car will apply to the rental. If you have comprehensive auto insurance your rental car will have the highest level of coverage, but if you have dropped comprehensive or collision auto insurance on your car remember the rental won’t be covered in case of theft or an accident. Also check with your auto insurance provider for any riders it might offer that might be less expensive than buying auto insurance through the rental company.

Rental car insurance offered by your credit card is going to vary widely depending on the type of card, the issuer and even the bank that provides your credit card. Typically any coverage provided by your credit card will involve damage or loss to the rental, but will exclude your personal belongings, personal liability, other cars and other’s property. You should check with each credit card you carry to find out which one offers the most secondary coverage for rental car insurance.

Once you rent a car and you know where you are covered through your personal auto insurance and credit cards, you will have the option to add coverage through the car rental service. These options include: loss damage waiver, liability insurance, personal accident insurance, and personal effects insurance.

Used Car Dealerships In Ma

 MA, Nissan Dealerships MA ...

Local Auto Repair Shops Vs Dealership Repair

Author: Michael Brofy

In a down economy we are all looking for ways to save every penny to continue the lifestyles we’re used to. One area of everyone’s budget is auto repair. Sooner or later you’re going to need some type of auto repair on your vehicle whether it’s major or minor repairs. We also need regularly scheduled maintenance to keep our vehicles running smoothly which, by the way also helps your car retain it’s value.

Some people go to local auto repair shops in their town because of convenience to their location while others go to the dealership where they bought their car for repairs. Which one is right for you depends on many factors such as cost, reliability, expertise, customer service, and more. Let’s look at both types of shops.

Local auto repair shops are usually smaller than dealer shops but tend to provide better customer service because they want and need your repeat business. Local auto mechanics are usually just as qualified, and sometimes more qualified than those at the dealer because they need knowledge of all auto part components, on many different types of vehicles. What you’ll find at the dealer is that their mechanics are qualified on one or a few specific areas like brakes only, or exhaust only, and Dodge only, or Ford only.

In this down economy, auto repair in Melrose, MA is becoming a matter of cost to the average person. Local auto repair shops usually charge less because of less overhead like health insurance cost’s, monthly lease or mortgage amount, payroll, tools, etc.. Dealerships in this type of economy are making less new and used auto sales than ever, yet they still need to pay for all their overhead so they may increase their repair costs to make up for this shortfall and pass the increase on to you. They really have no choice.

You can really find great value from local independent auto repair shops in every city and town across the USA. The best way to find the best local auto repair shops in your area is to get references from friends and family, or co workers, and make sure to find a local mechanic that is ASE (automotive service excellence) Certified. Also ask how long they’ve been in business, and how many years of experience they have. With this information, you’ll have a better understanding of who you’re hiring whether it’s the local shop or your dealer.
